Phil Fountain is a trusted leadership advisor and executive coach who integrates business knowledge with an insight-oriented approach to help senior executives from the C-suite to mid-level increase their capacities to lead. He brings 30 years of blue-chip leadership experience in aviation operations and global human resources in industry-leading organizations like Citigroup, American Express, Kraft Foods and the Department of Defense. He is also a member of the select executive coach faculty at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Phil brings total presence to coaching conversations and seeks to enable clients to become more cognitively flexible when dealing with issues and opportunities. He uses varied coaching tools and frameworks, and accesses a large data set of client experiences and personal insights to help clients achieve their goals. Phil’s style is to engage in respectful, yet candid truth telling and encourages clients to think more expansively about situations and people. He focuses on the power of his clients’ strengths while helping them understand how their styles may impact others.

Phil is a West Point graduate and holds a BS degree in Engineering. He also obtained his MA in U.S. National Interests and Asymmetrical Threats from the U.S. Army War College. As a former senior military leader and pilot, Phil successfully led large, dispersed operational units, has flown more than 5,000 hours and holds a commercial pilot/multi-engine/jet rating. He is an Executive Board member of Healing the Children and The West Point Society of Philadelphia.
